Originally a single brew pub opened in 1988, Honker’s Ale was one of the first batches to be produced by brewer and owner John Hall and was very much inspired by English country pub visits and English beers taken in by Hall. It went on to win the World Beer Cup Gold Medal in the English Style Bitter category in 1997.

Tasting Notes

Appearance

Reddish brown colour with a nice thick foam.

Aroma

A nice mild biscuit smell with dried malts.

Taste

Good toasted malt flavour and breadiness with some good matching leafy bitter hops.

Mouthfeel

Medium to light body with a smooth feel.
