Flying Dog Raging Bitch

Country of OriginUSA
Style Belgian IPA
ABV 8.6%
Year of Origin 2009
Brewery Flying Dog Brewery, Frederick

A hugely controversial beer, but not because of its flavour, which is very well received, but due to its name. It was released as a 20th anniversary beer in 2009 and was immediately banned for sale in Michigan for its label being “detrimental to public health, safety and welfare”. In 2011 a suit was filed against the decision and with a citing of the freedom of speech and first amendment the MLCC reversed its original decision allowing it to be sold. Due to its giant demand, possibly down to its bad press, it was made part of Flying Dog’s core range, continuing to cause a stir with many outlets selling it as either Raging B or simply Belgian-Style IPA.
