First brewed in the late 19th century from a privately owned brewery just outside Munich in Erding, originally named Weisse Brauhaus, this form of wheat beer come from a longer filtration process called “fine filtration” which makes the usually cloudy wheat beer completely clear. The brewery itself was renamed Erdinger in 1949.

Tasting Notes

Appearance

A very large white head which stays around on top of a very clear golden liquid with good lacing and ample carbonation.

Aroma

Light malts with grass like wheat notes and champagne yeast with just a small undertone of banana.

Taste

Light tasting with a little hops, sweet malts, a little bit of vanilla as well as citrus flavours.

Mouthfeel

Light bodied, crisp liquid with a thick and creamy head and good carbonation.
