CAP Brewery – Bohemian Pilsner

Czech Pilsner • 4.2 % ABV • Stockholm, Sweden

Beginning life on 12/12/2012 and based in Stockholm, Sweden, Cap Brewery (Curious Audacious Products) is the creation one Mattias Hammenlind & one Tomos Danko to invent more experimental beers in smaller volumes to allow for more creativity in the recipes.
In their own words, CAP are all about the passion and love for the craft. They brew the beer they like to drink and enjoy, using the tricks of the trade from the likes of America Germany, Belgium and Britain.

Bohemian Pilsner, my next beer is less of the ‘Old School’ and more of the ‘New School’ according to CAP Brewing. Taking the traditional Pilsner style and kicking it up a notch.
Opting for 100% floor malted bohemian pilsner malts and Saaz hops, Bohemian Rhapsody should offer plenty of spicy and herbal notes along with a mellow, full bodied malt finish.
Taste time.

The CAP was released with a hiss and the beer poured into the glass with plenty of energy. So much in fact that a massive white head formed and filled all the remaining space in the glass. The beer itself was a light straw colour and produced plenty of lively bubble action.
A mixture of grass, spice and citrus were really prominent in the aroma along with a touch of malt and a little yeasty esters.
Dry and citric flavours kicked in from the first mouthful which led to a really subtle malt hit. Plenty of carbonation helps to carry these flavours whilst offering a crisp and refreshing sensation. A lasting bitterness carries you to the end and sticks around long enough to carry you to your next sip.
Bohemian Pilsner has plenty of body for a pilsner yet is as easy drinking as it’s industrial counterparts. Offering more in the way of hopped up action.
